Local Government
Local government is not directly related to the diocesan parishes of the Church of England, although they often carry the same name and geography for historical reasons. Parish Councils and Parish Meetings, not to be confused with Parochial Church Councils (PCC), are the third tier of local government. They are different legal entities and exist for a very different purpose, but will often maintain close links with the church in the parish. We list those parish councils and meetings in our Parish Group area below. Where the council has a web site, the name will also be a link to it; clicking/tapping on the name will open a new tab or window depending on the device you are using.
